Recipes for a Longer Life

Ann Wigmore was one of the originators of the raw and live food movements. With a background in natural healing, Ann discovered the healing powers of green foods while recovering from gangrene in her legs. She researched the benefits of different varieties of grasses, settling on wheatgrass as an elixir of health (it is both fast growing and nutritionally dense). She eventually opened Natural Health Institutes in Boston and Puerto Rico, focusing on the healing powers of wheatgrass juice and living foods.
This book barely scratches the surface of what Ann has to offer, but it does give you some idea of the types of foods eaten on Ann's diet and her general approach to health. The food combining is not ideal in this book in comparison to what Ann settled on later in life, but Leola and Lalita (at the Ann Wigmore Institute in Puerto Rico) are currently working to update her recipes. As this is one of few books Ann wrote that is still in print, it's nice to have something of hers in its original form.
